Bolognese meat sauce – historical version
Prepared according to the original recipe from Bologna, our Bolognese Meat Sauce – Historical Version is made from select cuts of beef, a little tomato sauce and plenty of vegetables. We cook it for a long time over a low heat to retain all the flavours of the different ingredients. The final taste is particularly smooth, with “rustic and rural notes”.

Our Bolognese Meat Sauce – Historical Version is ideal for serving with soft polenta. After heating the contents of the jar to taste, pour it over hot polenta and serve with a generous sprinkling of Parmigiano Reggiano to create a rich, tasty dish.
Alternatively, you can use it as a pasta sauce. We recommend using “Le Rustiche” pasta: heat some of our sauce in a pan while the pasta is cooking. As soon as the pasta is al dente, drain it and add it to the pan to stir it into the sauce. You can also use our Bolognese Meat Sauce – Historical Version to make a delicious Lasagne alla Bolognese – a typical dish based on local traditions.
